Swivel rocker

May 28, 2015 by Shelley

My client wanted me to redo her swivel rocker that used to be her moms. It was the perfect shape and size to nestle next to her bed in the master bedroom.IMG_3931Chair–BEFORE–lots of love. I tore of the skirt and cut off the attached upper cushion before slipcovering.

Chair–AFTER with box pleat skirt and separate back cushions.

I used velcro to keep the top back cushion from falling off.

IMG_3934Much better! I love that she was able to use something that had sentimental value. You can’t beat the comfort and scale of those old chairs!

SIDE NOTE–Summer’s about here! 2 more days of school! I’m gearing up for all the craziness summer has to offer! Scout camps, camping at the beach, family reunion on the Oregon coast, paddle boarding, bike rides to Chevron and staying at ourย cabinย in Midway, Ut. I still have lots of availability at the cabin if you are interested! $50/night and you change the linens when you leave. Email me with your dates!

Oh, Shelley! How wonderful. As usual, you work your magic. This chair is transformed from an ugly duckling to a swan. ๐Ÿ™‚ Truly, your expertise, and the fabric and style of the slipcover has made this chair into a welcome resting or reading spot. I love the fabric. Hey, I’ve not noticed, but did you ever blog about the class that you put on a while back? I am really interested in seeing how that went. I would have loved to be a part of that…how fun! Well, it sounds like you have an awesome summer ahead. I will bet your boys are really looking forward to it. I regret that we were never able to give our kids the experiences you do. It seems like they turned out to be super adults anyway, but I am sure that having more time together and trying news things would have made for fond memories. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you for sharing! –Leslie in Oregon

My next available workshop will most likely be in October. Where do you live in Oregon? We are heading to Oregon Coast (Gleneden) this summer. Thanks for all the kind words!

Shelley, I replied earlier to this (?) post, but wanted to add that I found the info about your last workshop. It seems that I am not getting all of your posts in my feed. Not with bloglovin or facebook ๐Ÿ™ I will try something different to make sure I don’t miss anything! –Leslie in Oregon
