My client picked up this wood armed chair off a local Facebook Yardsale page. She wanted to redo it in a brushed white denim with ties and box pleat skirt.

Chair BEFORE

IMG_5200 Chair–AFTER! Her room was BEAUTIFUL!! It fit right in! We decided to ditch the saggy back cushion and replace it with a 24″ down pillow with 1″ ruffle.

I did 1.5″ blind hem on the skirt to eliminate bulk. The fabric was a decent weight and with the pleating–self lined wouldn’t have worked.

Side note #1— Many of you know of my bestie, running partner, other half– Camille about 4 years ago I slipcovered her sectional in a turquoise canvas. She loved it, but it has faded being next to the window and she decided to switch it up! She tested the arm pads 1st with some Navy Rit Dye to see how it would work out. AMAZING!!!

She dyed the whole slipcover Navy blue with Rit Dye. Here’s her instagram post! It is seriously AMAZING in person. Best idea ever! Now it’ll hold up at least a few more years, and every time she washes it she can add some more dye to keep it from looking faded and worn.

Side Note #2– Last month I turned 40! I decided to plan my own party! Eight of us girls flew to LAX and rented a beach house in Newport beach for 3 nights. BEST TIME EVER! Hot tub, beach, bikes, ferris wheel, treats, naps, and sleeping in!

Side note #3–the week after my bday in LA, my family and I drove to Seattle for my nephews wedding. It was an amazing wedding with the best Dance Party EVER! My boys didn’t know what to think watching their mom and dad dance like it was 1999!photo-35

Side note #4- My little guy is still making knives! Check out his latest! He cuts saw blades with his Dremel that my brother gave him.

blue pinstripe loveseat

September 22, 2015 by Shelley

My client wanted a blue pinstripe loveseat in her daughters room. She had an old pink loveseat that had been in storage, so she decided to update it.

IMG_4274 Pink loveseat–BEFORE—I removed the skirt to expose the darling legs.

IMG_4278 Loveseat–AFTER—blue pinstripe with a 2.5″ pleat ruffle along the base

IMG_4288 Since the loveseat was a kidney shape with curves along the front, I installed some velcro to help the slipcover hug to those inside curves.

I made a few pillows to go with it as well.

Her daughters room is darling with  a built in bunkbed and loft–lucky girl! Love that chandelier as well!

Ballerina tie dining chair

April 17, 2015 by Shelley

My client wanted me to make some Ballerina tie dining chair covers for her sister as a gift. I’ve done these chairs before. The sisters both have the same chairs! They live in different states, but have the same chairs–so I was able to use the in state sisters chair to make them.

We did a ballerina tie on the back legs and a box pleat skirt all the way around.

There were 8 chairs! Love seeing them all lined up together!

Side Note #2–Spring break was last week! We took the kids to St. George, Ut. We decided to camp at Sand Hollow State Park. We had a great time, but the wind was CRAZY! Especially in a tent! We ended up leaving a night early–We couldn’t take another sleepless night with the tent flapping viciously.

But all in all it was great, the boys and I played a lot of card games, we found some natural hot spots, explored a cool waterfall, rappelled, paddle boarded, and ate smores. I always try to see the bright side of things on not dwell on the crappy parts–unless they are funny. Normally when things are crappy–it just makes for a great story later. “Remember that time we camped at Sand Hollow and it was SO WINDY, our dinner was cold in the two seconds it took to scoop food from the camping stove onto our plates”11039285_10206386112432107_1982761371609569612_n

We did some hiking and climbing on huge rocks at Pioneer park. 10955638_10206386125632437_342500624188545663_n

Heber also brought some ropes and let the boys do some rappelling.

11149349_10206386130032547_4196169333544217917_nSand Hollow reservoir is BEAUTIFUL. We did a bit of paddle boarding one morning before the wind picked up. The boys did some rock jumping into the freezing water. I did it last year, so didn’t feel the need to prove myself again :).
