Man Couch

September 12, 2017 by Shelley

First off–I am booking into February 2018. Email me to get on my list slipcovershelley@yahoo.com. Remember I can only do local work to SLC/Provo, Utah. I need the furniture to custom fit it.

Over the summer amid all the crazy vacations, I did this couch for a very nice gentleman that had a vision of what he wanted. He did a great job pulling all his fabrics together.

Couch-BEFORE— It had a large floral chenille slipcover on it before. They loved how deep the couch was and how comfortable it was and wanted to keep it. So they decided to update it a bit to their new style.

Couch–AFTER! Modern fabric geometric print and suede cushions.

I made sure to match up all the stripes and we had to get creative with some of the pillows to maximize the leather hide.

Here is the leather hide. I had to work around holes and imperfections. I laid the back side of each cushion/ pillow to make the puzzle fit and get all the pieces I needed. My client was ecstatic with the way it all turned out and encompassed his vision.

SIDE NOTES

  1. Since July I’ve been helping my mom sell her house and downsize into a condo. It’s all coming together this week! The house and condo are both closing in a few days, then we can get her moved and settled in. The boys took full advantage last week and took her riding lawn mower for one more spin. 21270786_10214182346893096_2033253118396685895_n
  2. The boys are in full swing with running and mountain biking. This week we have a cross country meet in the morning and mountain bike race 2 hrs away in the afternoon. I’m just grateful, I can go to both! I love watching my boys race! Last weekend Heber raced with 2 of the boys in a relay mountain bike team and placed 3rd for all male team!

Bent couch slipcover

April 11, 2016 by Shelley

My client wanted to slipcover her bent couch. The original was a slightly shiny grey fabric. It was pretty, but she wanted something washable with her dogs. She chose a great tan crosshatch fabric.

IMG_5432 Couch–AFTER- I ran velcro under the bottom edge to keep it tight and in place.

I chose to topstitch the arms, and use piping everywhere else.

Side notes–

#1–We headed to Moab for spring break. We camped with my sister and my brother who drove here from Seattle to join us. Somehow we all had the same week for spring break.

nursery swivel rocker

December 8, 2015 by Shelley

My client wanted to slipcover her nursery swivel rocker in a gender neutral color, since they weren’t finding out what they were having. I forgot to take a before pic–it was just a muslin covered chair ready for a slipcover.

She chose a great grey diamond fabric. IMG_5018

I did do velcro under the bottom edge to keep it all tight and in place.

I love the mural they painted on the wall! It’s perfect with the crib and dresser. IMG_5027

Side note– She also had me make a few pillow to finish off her front room. She chose some great fabrics! You ALWAYS need pillows to finish off a space. I always use down inserts in my pillows, so you can fluff them and they always look great. Polyfiber fills, just go flat and hard over a few months time.

Side note-I am booked till January. Email me if you want to get on my list. Thanks!
