Oversized Chair and Some DVD Testimonials

July 10, 2011 by Shelley

This chair was for a client…she wanted a change, something more simple. She bought some dropcloths from a specialty paint store. They didn’t look like any dropcloth I had ever seen, they were more like a poplin instead of chunky woven canvas. They worked out great.

Before….

After…done up in a cream poplin type dropcloth with a gathered skirt.

*SOME “How to Slipcover DVD” Testimonials that I have received lately*

#1 Cassi over at Something for the Road just finished making this slipcover after watching my “How to Slipcover DVD”. I am so proud…it looks GREAT!

021

#2 Rachel over at The Life and Times of a World Traveler just finished her first slipcover with the help of my DVD. She did great on her first slipcover ever! The second one always comes a lot easier. After my first… I said, I’d never do another…hahaha…that’s funny now huh?

#3…from Maria

I was so excited to get your DVD, and can’t wait to start sewing slipcovers for my wingback chairs. Your DVD is great! It’s given me the confidence to sew my own…feels like I’ve opened a window to a whole new sewing adventure!

Side Note– #1 Just got back from my family reunion at Bear Lake…we had some good times on the Lake and at the indoor pool. The fireworks over the lake were pretty great too. Then at 6:30am this morning we drove straight from Bear Lake to Heber’s Grandmas 98th birthday party which was 4.5 hrs away. Now I am home returning emails and checking all my messages.

Floral Wingback chair with boxpleat skirt and out of town until July 11th

July 2, 2011 by Shelley

This chair was for my client’s office. She had her husband take off the legs and build it up with 2×4’s and add some industrial wheels.

Before

Here you can see the handyman work.

After…she chose a great floral cotton.

Front of chair, check out the bird matching on the front of the cushion!

I love the boxpleat skirt on this…I ended it about 1.5″ up from the floor. This way it hides most of the wheels, but it isn’t too long for the fabric to get caught. I love how Corey had a traditional wingback chair transformed into a great comfy office chair that MOVES!

-Side Note– I am heading out of town for a family reunion at Bear Lake tomorrow until July 11th. I most likely won’t be replying to emails until I return.

-Side Note– I am booked until the beginning of August, so if you want on my list email me heberj1@yahoo.com. Just a reminder the fall is a really busy time for me, so if you are wanting something done… don’t wait until October to find fabric.

Gloria’s Blue club chair

June 23, 2011 by Shelley

This chair was for Gloria’s client…we did a pair of these for her. Here is the before a chair with bunnies and dogs on it.

Before chair

After…she chose a thick blue suede type fabric, again I wasn’t sure if it was going to mold the curves correctly because the backing on the fabric was stiff, but it worked out.

Here is a close up of the inside wing with the pillows. Loved the pillow fabrics and how they made the chair pop.

Side Note— here are some pics from our trip to Carlsbad State beach.

Here’s Carter surfing all by himself…Heber rented two boards for a day, and the boys loved it so much he ended up buying a surf board from Costco while we were there. Then one of our neighbors had to strap it down on top of their car to get it home for us.

Here’s my Carter.

Here’s Logan surfing it up too. I was amazed at how fast they picked it up.

Here is Heber and I.

Luke stuck to the boogie boarding and shell collecting.

These were the stairs we had to walk down to the beach everyday. Luke would wake me up every morning ready with his bucket in hand ready to go walk the beach and collect shells. I used to be an avid shell collector when I was little (I grew up in Southern California). So I started to look forward to his darling wake up nudging efforts.

Here’s a picture that we got of the whole family right before we got in the car to drive home…no joke Luke wore that outfit everyday we were there, that BYU jersey was NASTY by the time we left.

This is a picture of our Van that ran Wasatch Back last weekend

Here I am right before running my first leg of 3.2 miles.

Side Note #2- I am booked until the end of July, email me if you want on my list.

Join us Saturdays at tatertotsandjello.com for the weekend wrap up party!
