Cream duck cloth couch

January 28, 2016 by Shelley

My client wanted a cream duck cloth couch. Her neighbor had given her this great scrolled back english rolled arm couch, so she had a great base to start with.

She wanted ties on the back for some extra detail.

I did a 2″ pleat ruffle around the base

SIDE NOTES—We just got back from our annual couples trip. This year we went to Sayulita, Mexico. So great to be somewhere warm for a week!
This pic was taken on the back porch of the jungle house we stayed at! AMAZING house!
While we were gone, Heber’s dad stayed a few nights with our boys and left a flash drive with some old pics from when we built our house 17 years ago…in the middle of nowhere!

drop cloth slipcover

November 4, 2015 by Shelley

My client wanted something washable for her couch, she decided to do a drop cloth slipcover. She needed something washable because her cat loves the back cushions! I cut off the attached back cushions, so I could cover them separately. Much better fit that way.

IMG_4797She chose to use a drop cloth for her fabric. Forgive the basement lighting, it’s hard to photograph in.

IMG_4803We kept it simple with no skirt.

IMG_4806She had some AMAZING family heirloom linens (runners, table cloths, napkins, etc.), Her designer talked her into taking them out of the trunk and letting me cut them up and make pillows. Better to get some use out of them and enjoy them, then keep them boxed up.

IMG_4808She was absolutely thrilled with the outcome and the option to take it off and wash it.

SIDE NOTES–I am booked until Decemeber. Get on my list if you want something slipcovered before Christmas! I have a few spots left.

blue pinstripe loveseat

September 22, 2015 by Shelley

My client wanted a blue pinstripe loveseat in her daughters room. She had an old pink loveseat that had been in storage, so she decided to update it.

IMG_4274 Pink loveseat–BEFORE—I removed the skirt to expose the darling legs.

IMG_4288 Since the loveseat was a kidney shape with curves along the front, I installed some velcro to help the slipcover hug to those inside curves.

I made a few pillows to go with it as well.

Her daughters room is darling with  a built in bunkbed and loft–lucky girl! Love that chandelier as well!
